Using PPOs to Pay for Treatment
PPO plans typically have a higher monthly premium, but they give you the freedom to choose what doctors you see and even what rehab you want to go to. With a PPO, certain rehabs may be in-network or out-of-network, but you’ll still receive a portion of the coverage either way.
How Much Does Rehab Cost If You Use Insurance?
Insurance is a bitch and it’s often hard to tell exactly how much rehab will cost you because the portion of cost they’ll cover depends on your plan and the amount of days you’re in rehab. If you’re using insurance to pay for rehab, you should also keep in mind that your insurance provider may try to cut your time in treatment short by denying coverage after a couple weeks. While you’re in rehab, your focus shouldn’t be on dealing with your insurance — it should be set on getting clean and sober for good.
Using Cash Pay for Opioid Abuse Treatment
Private pay, also known as “cash pay,” is when you don’t involve insurance and you pay for the cost of rehab with your own money. This way you can be sure you’ll receive the full time needed in rehab for opioid addiction without having to deal with insurance’s bullsh*t claim denials. Better yet, when you do private pay, the cost of treatment may be cheaper than the price when paying with insurance. You don’t want to be stuck with a higher cost, only to have your insurance cover little to nothing of your residential stay.
